Go Fish Poke Bar has consistently been a favored restaurant in Redwood City, and for good reason.
It first opened in 2015, and it has grown in size and popularity ever since, spreading across the Bay Area. There are many poke restaurants in Redwood City, but Go Fish Poke Bar stands out in particular for its assembly-line service style.
I ordered a regular-sized bowl of white sushi rice, crab, tuna, cucumbers, green onions, sesame seeds and ponzu sauce. I also bought a spicy tuna hand roll.
My favorite part of the bowl was the crab. It had a nice texture and intense flavor, complementing the other ingredients with a slight sweetness. The tuna was also good. It tasted very fresh, though there was quite a bit of connective tissue, so the texture wasn’t the best.

The hand roll was simple, with just tuna, cucumber, and a few spices. I really liked the cucumber, as it added a nice crunch with every bite and worked well with the spices, giving the whole thing a mild pickled flavor.
The serving size of the bowl was quite large and filling, despite being the smaller of the two options offered. Still, it was quite expensive, costing $16. The handroll was less of a meal than the poke bowl, but it cost a fair $6, which I think is worth it for the price.
Go Fish Poke Bar offers a variety of filling and tasty poke. Although they are a little expensive, they are also very good, making them perfect for an occasional treat.
