Kung Fu Tea is a small store on Woodside Road that opened in Nov. 2025. They get their ingredients from Taiwan and strive to ensure their customers have a premium tea experience. They have locations in many states across the U.S. and some international locations such as in Canada, Cambodia and Taiwan. Their menu is complete with milk teas, green teas, matcha, slushies, lemonades and much more, including seasonal and special drinks made in collaboration with Kung Fu Tea and other brands. In the winter of 2025, they partnered with Pokémon, and at the beginning of 2026, they collaborated with Care Bears and came out with various unique flavors of slushies, teas and matcha. What sets Kung Fu Tea apart from other boba shops is its fairly wide range of food options. From croffles to onigiri and even ramen; there is so much to choose from.
I went to Kung Fu Tea so I could see the shop for myself and, most importantly, taste the highly rated tea. When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised by how cozy the place felt. Although the shop was small, it did not feel confined but rather close-knit. Big shops are chaos and the bond between customer and staff is non-existent. In this store, I felt very relaxed and comfortable talking with the staff, especially because they were so kind. Instead of only making my drink, the worker began talking to me about how I ordered a good drink and that led to a conversation. It was surprising to see how the workers really wanted to form a bond with their customers, which I haven’t really seen as much from other shops.
What caught my attention the most in the place was the rows of small claw machines. I had never seen a store with actual games that you could play with tokens while you wait for your order. Although I believe that paying $1 for the chance to get a small toy is a bit expensive, I think it is unique and a good way to raise money while keeping customers entertained and happy. The store also has an open workspace where the staff makes your drink in front of your eyes. I thought that this was a great addition to make the customer feel more secure and know what is going into their drink. Overall, the entire feel of the shop felt very relaxed, comfortable and like you were joining a close-knit community.
I ordered their classic Kung Fu milk tea. I would honestly rate it a 4.8/5. I think that the flavor was very rich and the boba was excellent. I noticed that with a lot of other tea places, their classic milk tea tastes very watered down, meaning it only tasted like milk and boba. With this one, the flavors were very rich and it did not have an overpowering sweetness when delivering the black tea and brown sugar taste. The most memorable part of the tea was the boba. I think that the boba was one of the best I have had from a tea shop. It was very well-made and the consistency was extremely soft and held a good brown sugar taste. Many boba teas I have had consisted of hard boba with a bitter or even flavorless taste. I have not tried all the drinks yet but from what I gather from the classic milk tea, I believe that their boba teas are excellent and I could not recommend them enough.
All in all, the Kung Fu Tea shop is a great place to go to for either food, boba or other teas. Although the shop is small, I have found the experience of the shop and the items to be of higher quality than many renowned and expensive boba shops. With their unique elements like claw machine games and fun collaboration drinks, they have quickly become one of my favorite boba stops. I rate the entire experience a 4.9/5 because of course, there can be some improvements, but overall, Kung Fu Tea is an amazing place.
