On Feb. 8, 2026, the Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium 29-13 in what would be considered a blowout. Apart from the halftime show with Bad Bunny, most people will agree the game was a slog, with not much of note happening.
The Seahawks were heavily favored by -4.5 coming into the Super Bowl. One of the main factors that made the Seahawks heavy favourites was the team’s schedule, with the Seahawks having one of the toughest schedules in the NFL, being stuck in a division with the San Francisco 49ers and the LA Rams, forced to play them twice a year and then again during the Seahawks’ postseason run.
Meanwhile, the Patriots were in a division with the NY Jets and the Miami Dolphins. The Patriots also played 11 teams during the regular season, and in the postseason, they faced the LA Chargers, who barely made it into the playoffs, the Houston Texans, who gifted the Patriots multiple interceptions, and the Denver Broncos, whose quarterback was injured.
The Patriots’ easy schedule was so concerning that even their own fans were worried before the Super Bowl.
“If I’m thinking with my head, the Seahawks are probably gonna win,” Woodside senior and Patriots fan Luke Peary said. “But I’ve got to go with my heart and stick with the Patriots.”
When the game started, the Patriots clearly had no interest in helping Peary. For the entire first half, the Patriots couldn’t score a single point as their offensive line failed to protect their quarterback, Drake Maye, in any way.
The Seahawks also showed no interest in making it an exciting game in the first half, scoring only nine points on three field goals.
The Seahawks’ failure to score, despite their dominant performance, was despite Kenneth Walker III running right through the Patriots’ defensive line to help them score both field goals.
At halftime, the Bad Bunny show was largely successful, with many of his fans happy with his performance.
“The halftime show was great,” Woodside junior Jose Castillo said. “It definitely didn’t disappoint.”

The second half started largely the same, with the Patriots failing to score again in the third quarter and the Seahawks getting another field goal, going up 12-0 heading into the fourth quarter. The game picked up in the fourth quarter, as the Patriots scored two touchdowns on long throws from Drake Maye. However, they failed a two-point conversion.
The Patriots were forced to go for the two points because the Seahawks scored another field goal plus two touchdowns of their own, with one coming from a pass to AJ Barner and the other from a pick-six by Uchenna Nwosu.
Kenneth Walker III almost scored a touchdown of his own, but the Patriots were lucky to get a flag to overturn the touchdown. It didn’t matter to Walker, though, as he would still walk away with the MVP.
Overall, Super Bowl LX, unless you’re a Seahawks fan, should go down as one of the least entertaining Super Bowls in its 60-year history, with only 12 points being scored in the first three quarters, with the heavy favourites taking home the Lombardi Trophy from the start.
