The Bible club meets on Thursdays at lunch in E – 19.

The new Bible Club meets on Thursday at lunch in E-19 to read and discuss the Bible. Per the first amendment, this is not a school-sponsored club, rather, it is student-led.

Club members learn about Christianity by talking together and learning parts of the Bible. Prayers and worship songs are said at the end of the meeting for students who request them. Freshman Eliaz Khan, president of the club, created the Bible Club to teach students about Christianity.

“I decided to create the club because something inside me told me to create this club,” Khan said.

As part of the Bible Club, students participate in prayer requests.

“A Bible Study Club is a club where we all read the Bible as a group, and then we each ask for prayer requests, or we each share specific parts of the Bible that we [read],” Khan said.

Furthermore, the club reads many biblical texts to understand the Bible better.

“For example, there are some parts we can read like the Book of Job, Matthew, New Testament, or Old Testament,” Khan said. “We also read [a] psalm book called The Armor of God, a bible study [text] for teenagers. We also have other bible study methods, which we can do as groups.”

Khan begins each meeting by reading the book of Genesis to club members.

“We were originally going to be studying the Book of John, but I think it would be good if we start from the beginning with Genesis,” Khan said.

Although students may have read the Bible before, they can still learn new things by joining this club.

“[Whether] they go to church, or they [don’t] go to church, they can read parts of their Bible to get closer to God, as well as help other people to know [and understand] the Bible more,” Khan said. Furthermore, the club reads many biblical texts to understand the Bible better.
