The day before Adele released her first new album in 6 years, I was so excited and expected a few songs about her husband. Unfortunately, the album talks about the ride through trying to move on, drinking, depression, loneliness, and self-doubt, Which I found too depressing to enjoy.
The songs express her feelings towards her divorce from her ex-husband, Simon Konecki this past year. Her album shares her life experiences with motherhood and fame.
This isn’t a happy album, it’s downtempo and soft. Adele’s album is very quiet and barely reveals her high voice. It focuses on her voice, piano, and guitar. The previous songs were happy but this album is exposing her real voice and is very romantic with a 1920’s-type rhythm.
“30” can compare to Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” because they both have a similar heartbreak theme. Adele and Swift both share and symbolize the heartbreak they’ve both been through. They both created songs that will get you through the experiences they’ve been through.
In my opinion, I would not recommend “30” because it’s really sad and not very exciting throughout the end. I like about 3 songs because she sings beautifully when she talks to her son in one of the songs.
The album was produced between 2018 and 2021. Adele wrote “30” at age 30 but was still working on it until the age of 33. When writing the songs, Adele worked with Greg Kurstin, Ludwig Göransson, Max Martin, and Tobias Jesso Jr. The album was released by the studios Melted Stone and Columbia Records.
Overall, the album was not what I expected, but I would recommend it to people who are sad and going through heartbreak.
