Supreme crab is worth the hype it gets and I recommend you get it.
Supreme Crab offers a good seafood experience, since it is one of the only seafood spots around Redwood City. Many customers have left good reviews about the freshness and quality of the crab, shrimp and the other seafood dishes. The portions are generous, making sure you get a good value for your money.
The menu for Supreme Crab consists of salads, sides, soups, drinks, rolls and a large selection of appetizers, which aren’t all seafood dishes.
I ordered four things since I was on a tighter budget. I ordered the garlic bread ($3.99) as my appetizer, six oysters ($12.99), a bag of seafood by the pound which included 2 legs of king crab legs (market price), potato for as my add-on ($1.50), and garlic butter as my sauce.
The prices were extremely reasonable, and the taste of the food created a good experience for me.
Starting off I had the garlic bread. It was very good. There were three pieces of bread, which were a very decent size considering it was $3.99. The bread was Texas toast, with only garlic butter. It was very crispy and had a great flavor. It wasn’t too garlicky or buttery, and I had to order another round of the bread because it was so good. I gave it a 9/10.
Next up is the oysters. Oysters are always one of my go-to’s at any seafood restaurant. However, this time I didn’t like them at all. They were a decent size, but I disliked the taste a lot. It had a very salty, ocean water taste. Obviously they all have a salty taste, but this was different, and not in a good way. I tried to make it better by adding lemon, but the taste still wasn’t pleasant. I expected more of a briny taste, but it was all just ocean. For those reasons, I gave the oysters a 2/10.
Finally, the main course, the seafood bag. I expected more out of the two king crab legs, since the crabs weren’t that big. The legs had a nice sweet and salty taste, which I enjoyed. The potatoes inside of the bag were my biggest issue. When I took a bite out of it, it was still raw and crunchy. The sauce that was given was very buttery, and had a good overall flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed the taste of the crab and butter and would buy it again. I would give it a 7/10, it was good but I deducted points just because of the potatoes and the crab being a little small.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was very casual and mellow. The staff was generally attentive and friendly, contributing to a very pleasant dining experience.
My only difficulty with the service was the wait time which was a little over 30 minutes, but considering it’s such a highly rated place and the only seafood place around, I actually expected it to be more of a wait time. I actually think that the wait time was very reasonable too for a Thursday night.
Overall, Supreme Crab satisfied my tastebuds, offering a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience. I would recommend Supreme Crab.
