The first half of the 2025-26 school year has came to an end, rounding out the class of 2029’s first semester of high school.
One of the biggest things that freshmen had to adjust to was the big change from middle school to high school with new classes and people.
“What surprised me most was that [high school is] definitely way harder than middle school,” freshman Brayden Moscini said. “There’s a lot more work that has to be done.”
Many new students are now changing their study habits to help them adjust to the new workload.
“I have [started] to stay on top of my work and make sure I study for every test,” Moscini said. “In middle school, I didn’t study that much, but now I really have to study to make sure every grade is good.”
The start of high school is a big change for many freshmen due to the larger population compared to middle school.
“I have gained new friendships,” freshman Caroline Pandes said. “And a new perspective on life.”
High school is generally considered a big stage in someone’s academic life. With that stage comes different expectations for what it would be like.
“I think it’s pretty much lived up to my expectations,” Moscini said. “It’s a little bit more boring than I thought it’d be. I thought it’d be a little bit more fun, but it’s pretty chill and I like meeting new people.”
With the start of a new chapter in their lives, freshmen have created goals for the rest of the year.
“[I want to] make sure I pass all my classes,” Moscini said. “And keep a solid B or higher in all of my classes”.
