After more than a decade of delighting the community with a frozen treat and heartfelt service, the family behind Corner Yogurt is preparing to say goodbye and hoping someone new will carry on the tradition.
In a message posted on the Nextdoor Website, owner Art Gevondyan expressed both gratitude and the news that they will be moving out of the Bay Area later this year due to family obligations.
“For the past 11 years, it has been our family’s love to own and operate Corner Yogurt,” Gevondyan said. “Sadly, due to familial obligations, we will be moving out of the Bay Area this year.”
Corner Yogurt has become more than a dessert destination, it’s a local gathering spot with a welcoming atmosphere. The owners did not specify a final date of operation under their management.
“We are looking for a new family or individual to continue its legacy,” Gevondyan said.
The shop’s future remains bright and the owners are committed to finding a successor who shares the same passion for both service and community. Locals, such as many users on Nextdoor, are hopeful that a like-minded owner will step in and continue to keep the store thriving.
Corner Yogurt is being marketed as a key turn operation, meaning that a new owner could take over and begin operating with minimal transition time. The current owner did indicate their willingness to assist during the handoff to ensure that the legacy of Corner Yogurt continues.
The owners did not disclose an asking price, but interested people are encouraged to inquire directly for more information and specific details regarding the shop being sold.
Whoever picks up the scoop next will inherit not just a business, but a well-loved piece of the neighborhood’s heart.
