While Woodside is home to an abundance of clubs, one organization that stands out for change is the Pink Ribbon Club. The purpose of this club is to fund March of Dimes, which is a non-profit organization that works to improve the health of mothers and premature babies.
Meeting in class E-9 every Monday, the club serves as a catalyst for change with a mix of fun and collaboration.
“I think it’s a great way to be involved in something that gives back to our community.” Senior and club leader Madi Escobar said.
Putting their heads together, club attendees brainstorm ways in which they can raise the most amount of money in order to spread awareness.
“We hope to raise as much money as we can for the research places that we’re donating to,” Escobar said. “To also get the word out there and have more people join our club which will benefit us in raising that money.”
With the upcoming event of Friday, October 7th’s “Pink Out” football game theme, Pink Ribbon Club will be put under the spotlight.
“We have our pink football game coming up, so that’s super exciting,” Escobar said. “We’ve already sold some t-shirts, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone dress in pink!”
