The football team outscored Los Altos High School in this year’s homecoming game on Thursday, Oct. 24.
The team defeated Los Altos 48-0. Despite the game being on a Thursday—instead of a typical Friday—many students, family and friends came out to support the team. Sophomore quarterback Charlie Dalrymple started this game and led the team to the dominant win.
“Our grit and our nastiness and wanting to get back out there especially after getting humiliated by South San Francisco last week [led to the win],” Dalrymple said. “We wanted to show what we could do.”
Their 29-17 loss to South San Francisco High School seemed to have fueled the team to push through the game against Los Altos. There is only one more home game left this season, which will be on Nov. 8 against Milpitas High School.
“I think there’s always things that can go better,” Dalrymple said. “I think we ran the ball good and we passed it good.”
Dalrymple explained how the team is confident going into their next game and ready to come back for one more home game that will be played on a Friday. Freshman Alana Caine attended this year’s homecoming game and talked about how the Thursday date affected the game.
“The majority of everyone who usually goes [to the football games] was here,” Caine said. “The spirit and the people cheering on were really good.”
