The football team took home the win against Homestead High School last Friday, Oct. 11.
The football team beat Homestead 77-12. The Pink Ribbon Club set up the “Pinkout” theme for the game to raise money for breast cancer awareness.
“We are doing really well this year,” junior running back Daniel Torres said. “We are 2-0 in our league.”
The team won games against Santa Clara High School on Oct. 4 but lost against Half Moon Bay High School on Sept. 20 . The win against Santa Clara was the first real home game after the Bradley Field had been redone. This win helped motivate the team to keep winning.
“We just need to play the whole game,” Torres said. “Don’t get content with the score at a certain moment.”
In the first four minutes of the game, there was a kickoff return for a touchdown. Torres expressed how the team could improve their gameplay to win more games in the future.
“We won by a lot,” Torres said. “It was really fun to see guys get in and play.”
During the second quarter with four minutes on the clock, there was another kickoff that resulted in a touchdown, making the score 48-6 for Woodside. Overall, Torres had 41 rushing yards and 20.5 yards per carry.
“Keep up the intensity of practice and not get content with what we’re doing and know that there’s always ways we can do better,” Torres said.
