Both the varsity and JV water polo teams have had great seasons so far. Varsity had a dominating win against Aragon this past Thursday, September 27.
They are currently 2nd in league, behind rival Menlo Atherton High School (MA). “The hardest team that we play is definitely Menlo Atherton,” senior winger Quinn Watrous said. “They are super good at water polo for no reason. We beat them last year.”
Their next and final game is at home against MA, on Tuesday, October 17.
Confidence is high among water polo players, with the team training hard to get desired results. The team is always training hard. Senior Thomas Beasley has been on the team for 4 years and is the current co-captain, along with senior Max Mueller.
“[First], we warm up, then we do some swimming and leg work, and finally, we’ll normally go into practicing some plays and passing drills,” Beasley said.
On the junior varsity team, there is a lineup of many new players, while ., the varsity team experienced less change.
“There are no newcomers on the varsity team,” Senior Aidan Sheena said.
Their goals this season remain the same as before.
“We want to win CCS and to be first in league,” Beasley said.
