Emma Corrin as Diana, Princess of Wales in a recreation of her iconic wedding gown

Season 4 of The Crown aired about a month ago on Netflix and has been one of the most talked-about shows ever since. The critically acclaimed show has come back with a season just as strong as the three that came before. Many viewers were especially excited to see the addition of Emma Corrin as Diana, Princess of Wales, and she did not disappoint. This season covers Margaret Thatcher’s premiership as Prime Minister as well as the beginning and eventual demise of the relationship between Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

Although there has been some criticism over the artistic liberties taken on the actual events of history, especially over the portrayal of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowels, it does not change the fact that this season is an extremely well done and entertaining piece of television. The show balances recreating iconic moments in history such as Diana and Charles’s first tour of Australia with fictional moments added for dramatic flair such as “the Balmoral Test” to see if Margaret Thatcher and Diana can fit into royal life. This, paired with the 80s and iconic characters’ backdrop, makes this season as good as each of the last.
