Eight Woodside High School senior athletes committed to universities on National Letter of Intent Signing Day on February 5, signing letters of intent in front of family and classmates.
At lunch, the athletes sat at desks on the stage in Woodside’s MUR, and they signed their letters of intent as Timothy Faulkner, Woodside Athletics Director and leadership teacher, announced their name, their sport, and their college.
Here is the complete list of the seniors who were honored at the event.
Sarah Perry: UC Davis, cross country
Amanda Scardino: Menlo College, volleyball
Justin Mills: Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, swimming
Kassidy James: Benedictine College, softball
Natalie Navarro: San Francisco State University, soccer
Brynn McClymond: Menlo College, soccer
Adrienne Evans: University of Pennsylvania, soccer
Andres Simbeck: Denison University, soccer
Many supportive family members and friends brought posters, balloons, or food to celebrate.
“It was really nice to see all the support people gave,” commented Sarah Perry, who will be attending University of California, Davis, in fall 2020. “It was a fun experience.”
After the brief ceremony, the athletes took photographs with family and friends to celebrate their commitments.
“Congratulations,” Faulkner said to the athletes at the end of the ceremony, “and Woodside High School is so proud of you.”
