Many Woodside students have experienced some form of bullying during their time in school. In honor of National Bullying Prevention Month, the following students chose to share their experiences to improve their community.
Four San Mateo County Sheriffs came to visit Woodside high school with cookies and donuts for students arriving to their first and second period classes; the interaction though, has left some students with unsure feelings about having Police officers on campus. Two or more of the Sheriff's cars were parked next to the Performing Arts Center from the time before first period though the start of second period on September 4th. The officers handed out cookies and donut holes while students walked into school.
"IT Chapter Two," the sequel to the terrifying killer clown horror movie "IT," premiered on Friday, September 6 and proved to be disappointing for some fans but worthy of praise from others.
Derogatory language is common in teens' lives, and though its use has decreased, especially in liberal areas such as the Bay Area, high schoolers still face slurs and offensive language in their communities. Students at Woodside are aware of the negative effects of demeaning language and have a plan to stop it.
